At approximately 2:53 p.m. on August 9, police were dispatched to the report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined that a male suspect was a passenger inside a taxi when he brandished a firearm and demanded cash. The driver pulled over and the suspect stole the contents of the driver’s wallet, exited the vehicle and fled the scene on foot. No injuries were reported. A lookout was broadcast and responding officers conducted a canvass of the area for the suspect yielding negative results. The suspect is described as a Black male, 5’8, approximately 50-60 years of age, wearing a black hair covering, and a black jacket. The investigation is ongoing.
