At approximately 3:41 p.m. on November 3, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery by force. Upon arrival, it was determined an employee exited the business when the male suspect allegedly approached and attempted to steal cash from him. The employee attempted to get away from the suspect who subsequently struck him, causing the employee to fall to the ground. The suspect then fled the scene on foot. Medics responded and treated the employee on scene for non-life threatening injuries. A lookout was broadcast and responding officers located an individual matching the description of the suspect in the area of Army Navy Drive and S. Hayes Street and took him into custody. James Stephens, 43, of Arlington, Va. was arrested and charged with Attempted Robbery. He was held without bond.
