At approximately 5:48 p.m. on November 11, police responded to Virginia Hospital Center for the late report of an assault. Upon arrival, it was determined that the victim was in the area of the bus terminal when he was approached by a male subject who engaged him in conversation. The male suspect then approached the victim on foot, made threatening statements, brandished a knife and struck him with it, resulting in a laceration. The suspect subsequently fled the scene. The victim sought assistance from a Metro employee who called for medics. Medics treated the victim on scene before he sought additional treatment at the hospital. Responding officers conducted a canvass of the area for the suspects yielding negative results. The suspect is described as a Black male approximately 6’0”, 200 pounds, with short black hair, brown eyes, wearing a black shirt and blue jeans. The investigation is ongoing.
