Concealed Weapon and Narcotics Found During Traffic Stop in S. Lowell Street

A routine traffic stop for an improperly registered vehicle led to the arrest of an Alexandria man after police discovered a concealed firearm and suspected narcotics. At approximately 7:06 p.m., an officer conducted the stop in the 2400 block of S. Lowell Street. The driver, identified as Arnu Diggs III, 37, of Alexandria, VA, was found to have a suspended license.

During a vehicle search prior to towing, officers recovered a concealed firearm. A further search of the driver resulted in the recovery of suspected Schedule I/II narcotics. Diggs was arrested and charged with multiple offenses including:

  • Possession of Schedule I/II Controlled Substance

  • Possession of a Firearm while in Possession of Narcotics

  • Possession of a Concealed Firearm

  • Possession of Narcotics by a Prisoner

  • Driving an Improperly Registered Vehicle

  • Driving on a Suspended License

Diggs is being held without bond.
