Attempted Robbery on Fairfax Drive Ends in Arrest

An Arlington business on the 4200 block of Fairfax Drive was the scene of an attempted robbery on Monday afternoon. Police were initially dispatched for a “trouble unknown” call, but the situation quickly became clear upon their arrival.

According to reports, a male suspect entered the establishment, selected merchandise, and attempted to leave without paying. When confronted by an employee, the suspect allegedly became aggressive—making threatening statements, throwing a beverage, and hurling nearby merchandise to the ground. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident.

Responding officers arrived promptly and located the suspect on the scene. He was identified as Mike Donnell, 30, of no fixed address. Donnell was taken into custody and has been charged with Attempted Robbery, Destruction of Property, and Disorderly Conduct. He is being held without bond as the investigation continues.
