A verbal altercation between drivers escalated into a violent hit-and-run on Thursday evening in Arlington, leaving two men injured.
Police were dispatched to the 1100 block of N. Glebe Road following reports of a vehicle crash involving injuries. According to investigators, the male suspect and one of the victims (Victim One) had been traveling eastbound on I-66 when a verbal dispute broke out between them. The confrontation continued until both vehicles stopped near N. Glebe Road and N. Wakefield Street.
At that point, Victim One exited his vehicle. The suspect then accelerated, striking him. As the suspect fled the scene, he also hit another man (Victim Two) who was crossing N. Wakefield Street in a crosswalk.
Both adult male victims were transported to the hospital. Victim One sustained non-life-threatening injuries, while Victim Two, who was uninvolved in the original dispute, suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect, described as a Black male, remains at large. However, the vehicle used in the incident was later located and recovered in Washington, D.C. The investigation is active and ongoing.
