Location: 4300 block of N. Carlin Springs Road, Arlington VA

A man is facing charges after allegedly breaking into a vacant apartment and causing property damage on N. Carlin Springs Road.
Police responded to a reported burglary and discovered that the suspect had forced entry into the apartment and fled before officers arrived. A search of the area was conducted but initially did not locate the suspect.
Later that evening, the suspect returned to the same apartment. Officers responded again and took him into custody without incident.
Shaka Barnes, 45, of No Fixed Address, was arrested and charged with Unlawful Entry and Destruction of Property.
