Suspect Arrested After Threatening Store Employee During Robbery on S. Hayes Street

A robbery suspect was taken into custody Sunday morning after threatening a store employee during an attempted theft. The incident occurred in a business on the 1100 block of S. Hayes Street.

Police say a male suspect gathered merchandise and attempted to exit without payment. When confronted, the suspect made threatening statements before fleeing on foot.

Officers quickly broadcast a lookout and located a man matching the description nearby in the 1200 block of S. Fern Street. He was identified as Francis Robinson, 60, with no fixed address. Robinson was arrested and charged with Robbery. He is being held without bond.
