Location: 2100–2200 blocks of Shirlington Road, Arlington VA
Time: February 5, 2026 – First report at 11:31 a.m., second at 12:17 p.m.
A man was taken into custody after allegedly committing a string of criminal offenses along Shirlington Road. Police first responded to the 2100 block where the suspect reportedly attempted to enter a parked vehicle before trying to force entry into a nearby occupied residence. He also urinated in public before fleeing.
Shortly after, officers responded to the 2200 block for a burglary in progress. There, the same suspect broke into a business where he was confronted by an employee. He fled on foot but was apprehended by officers near S. Walter Reed Drive and S. Four Mile Run Drive. A check belonging to one of the victims was recovered during the arrest.
The suspect, Babatunde Osilesi, 36, of Riverdale, MD, was arrested and charged with:
