Police responded to a reported robbery in the 1200 block of South Hayes Street during the afternoon hours of March 18.
According to authorities, a male suspect entered a store and engaged an employee by asking to view merchandise. When the employee unlocked a display case, the suspect suddenly shoved the employee, grabbed merchandise, and fled the scene on foot.
No injuries were reported as a result of the incident. Officers canvassed the surrounding area but were unable to locate the suspect.
The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 25 years old, wearing all black clothing. The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
