An attempted arrest led to an assault on a police officer April 23. Officers spotted a robbery suspect walking nearby and attempted to detain him. During the encounter, the suspect assaulted an officer before being taken into custody.
The officer sustained minor injuries. Authorities also recovered suspected narcotics during the arrest. Tre Dawson, 32, was charged with robbery, assault on police, and drug possession.
