Maryland Man Charged After Pedestrian Assault in Shirlington

A Maryland man has been charged after police say he seriously injured a pedestrian during a confrontation in Shirlington.

According to Arlington County Police, the victim was walking in a crosswalk when he became involved in a verbal dispute with a driver nearby. Investigators say the suspect exited his vehicle and struck the victim, causing him to fall to the ground.

The suspect then allegedly drove away from the scene. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

A lookout for the suspect vehicle was broadcast, and an officer later stopped the vehicle on northbound I-395 near Boundary Channel Drive.

Police arrested Raymond Crowe, 40, and charged him with aggravated malicious wounding.
