A suspected shoplifting incident turned violent Monday morning at a business on Wilson Boulevard, according to Arlington police.
Investigators say the suspect entered the store, collected merchandise and allegedly attempted to leave without paying. When confronted by an employee, the suspect reportedly grabbed the worker and struggled over the merchandise, causing the items to fall to the floor.
The suspect fled on foot before officers arrived. Police later said the suspect voluntarily reported to the police station, where he was arrested.
Nana Amoah, 36, was charged with attempted robbery and held without bond.
