Arlington County police arrested a woman after she allegedly assaulted two officers while they were investigating a reported dispute at a business on Columbia Pike.
Officers responded to the scene shortly after 11 a.m. and made contact with a woman who appeared to be intoxicated. Police said the woman attempted to walk away while officers were speaking with her. As officers tried to detain her, she allegedly shoved one officer.
Authorities said the woman was then taken into custody, during which she allegedly spat on a second officer. No injuries were reported.
Elizabeth Benson, 43, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with two counts of assault on police and public intoxication.
