A man has been arrested following an alleged malicious wounding on North Nelson Street at Fairfax Drive in Arlington.
According to police, officers responded to reports of an assault at approximately 8:38 p.m. on July 19. Investigators determined that the male victim was walking outside after a verbal dispute with the suspect when the suspect allegedly caught up to him and assaulted him, causing serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Officers quickly located the suspect across the street from the incident and took him into custody.
Matthew Vernon, 45, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with Malicious Wounding. He was held without bond.
