ARLINGTON, VA — Police are investigating a carjacking in which a woman was allegedly threatened and had her keys, wallet and vehicle stolen on 19th Street N.
Police said the woman was walking in the area when a man approached her from behind and attempted to engage her in conversation. She continued toward her vehicle, and the suspect followed.
The suspect allegedly made a threatening statement and demanded her keys before taking both her keys and wallet. He then entered her vehicle and fled.
The stolen vehicle was described as a Volkswagen Tiguan with Virginia license plates. Officers searched the area but did not locate the suspect.
Police described the suspect as a Black man in his late 20s who was wearing a white tank top. The investigation remains ongoing.
