Arlington County Police responded to a business in the 1300 block of South Joyce Street for a reported assault that investigators determined involved a robbery.
Police said a woman entered the business and began concealing merchandise. She allegedly confronted an employee and brandished a box cutter before fleeing with the merchandise.
No injuries were reported. Officers searched the surrounding area but did not locate the suspect.
Police described the suspect as a heavy-set Black woman, approximately 30 to 40 years old, with long braids. She was reportedly wearing a blue sweater, blue jeans and white sneakers. The investigation remains ongoing.
