ARLINGTON, VA — Police are investigating a series of vehicle-related crimes on Columbia Pike in which two parked vehicles were damaged and a third was stolen.
Officers were dispatched to the 5500 block of Columbia Pike at approximately 8:47 a.m. September 28 for a delayed report of property destruction.
Investigators determined that between approximately 1 a.m. and 7 a.m., an unknown suspect or suspects smashed the rear passenger windows of two parked and unoccupied vehicles and rummaged through their interiors.
A third vehicle was stolen from the area.
Police described the stolen vehicle as a white 2011 Hyundai Elantra with Virginia license plate SUW2527. The two damaged vehicles were also Hyundai models.
Police did not provide a description of the suspect or suspects. The investigation remains ongoing.
