Arlington County Police arrested a 21-year-old Annandale man following reports of gunfire near N. Glebe Road and Chain Bridge Road early October 1.
Police received an alert from a neighboring jurisdiction about shots heard in the area. Responding officers searched the vicinity and located a male suspect on a nearby riverbank, where he was detained.
According to the preliminary investigation, the suspect was fishing when he allegedly produced a firearm and discharged multiple rounds. Officers recovered a firearm during the investigation.
No injuries or property damage were reported.
Mason Du, 21, of Annandale, VA, was arrested and charged with Reckless Handling of a Firearm, Discharge of a Firearm in a Public Place, and Hunting While Under the Influence.
