At approximately 11:22 p.m. on June 14, police were dispatched to the report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, it was determined the male victim and male suspect, who are known to each other, were outside a residential building when they became involved in a verbal dispute that escalated to a physical altercation during which the suspect allegedly assaulted the victim with a knife before fleeing the scene on foot. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital. During the course of the investigation, the suspect was identified and a warrant for his arrest was obtained. The following day, officers located the suspect inside a residence in the 800 block of S. Oakland Street and took him into custody. A knife was recovered from the scene. Nicolas Godinez-Andres, 42, of Arlington, Va. was arrested and charged with Aggravated Malicious Wounding. He was held without bond.
