At approximately 8:54 p.m. on May 22, police were dispatched to the report of an assault in progress. Upon arrival, it was determined the female victim and female suspect, who are known to each other, were inside a parked vehicle when they became involved in a verbal dispute. The victim and suspect then exited the vehicle and a physical altercation ensued during which suspect allegedly bit the victim. The victim sustained minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital. Responding officers located the suspect on scene and took her into custody. While in custody, the suspect bit an officer. Lindsy Navarrete, 23, of Dumfries, Va. was arrested and charged with Aggravated Malicious Wounding and Assault on Police. She was held without bond.
