ARLINGTON, Va. — Arlington County police have arrested a 42-year-old Arlington man on multiple charges involving an alleged victim who was known to him, and investigators say they believe there may be additional victims.
According to the Arlington County Police Department, detectives with the Special Victims Unit opened the investigation on June 5 after receiving information that the suspect allegedly had several inappropriate contacts with a teenage girl during May 2026.
Following the investigation, police arrested Jeremy Mishler, 42, of Arlington, on July 6. He is charged with two counts of taking indecent liberties with a child by a person in a supervisory or custodial relationship, along with one count each of assault and battery and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Police said Virginia law limits what information can be released about the investigation because it involves an alleged juvenile victim.
Detectives say the investigation remains active and believe there could be additional victims. According to police, Mishler previously volunteered with youth at Cherrydale Baptist Church.
Anyone with information related to the investigation, or who believes they may have had an inappropriate encounter with the suspect in the past, is asked to contact Detective S. Yanda at 703-228-4244 or syanda@arlingtonva.us.
