Police are investigating a malicious wounding incident reported early May 18 on South Quincy Street.
According to investigators, the victim and suspect — who know each other — became involved in a verbal dispute while outside between late May 17 and the early morning hours of May 18. During the altercation, the suspect allegedly assaulted the victim before fleeing the scene.
The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
