At approximately 6:20 p.m. on June 20, an officer was inside a business when an employee reported a shoplifting just occurred. A lookout was broadcast and the officer located an individual matching the description of the suspect inside the Courthouse Metro Station. The officer attempted to detain the suspect during which he was non-compliant. With the assistance of additional responding officers, he was taken into custody. While in custody, the suspect grabbed two officers and he was subsequently banned from the business. Timothy Thomas, 35, of No Fixed Address was arrested and charged with Assault on Police (x2) and Public Intoxication. He was held without bond.
