At approximately 10:00 a.m. on July 24, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect entered the bank and allegedly passed a note to the teller that demanded money and implied he had a weapon. The suspect then walked out of the bank, without any cash, and fled the scene in a vehicle. No weapon was seen or displayed, and no injuries were reported. During the course of the investigation, the suspect was identified, and he was subsequently located and detained in Washington D.C. on July 25 with the assistance of the Metropolitan Police Department. Tyrone Fitzgerald Hines, 61, of Suitland, Md. was arrested and charged with Attempted Robbery.
