At approximately 6:15 p.m. on July 4, police were dispatched to the report of an assault just occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined the victim was walking towards his residence when the suspect, who is known to him, attempted to force entry into the residence as the victim was walking inside. The victim was able to go inside his residence without the suspect entering and the suspect subsequently fled the scene. A lookout was broadcast, and responding officers conducted a canvass of the area for the suspect yielding negative results. A warrant for the suspect was obtained for Attempted Burglary. The investigation is ongoing.
