ATTEMPTED GRAND LARCENY AUTO: 2600 block of Richmond Highway Arlington VA

At approximately 4:21 p.m. on May 21, police were dispatched to the report of a stolen vehicle. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect entered the parking lot of the business and engaged an employee in conversation. The suspect then allegedly entered an unoccupied, running vehicle and attempted to flee the scene in the vehicle. Employees confronted the suspect who subsequently exited the vehicle and fled the scene on foot. A lookout was broadcast, and responding officers located an individual matching the description of the suspect in the 2300 block of S. Eads Street and detained him. During the course of the investigation, the suspect provided false personal identification information to officers. It was also determined the suspect stole vehicles from the same business during two previous incidents on May 23 and May 27. James Manago, 41, of Washington D.C., was arrested and charged with Attempted Grand Larceny Auto, Grand Larceny Auto (x2) and Identity Theft. He was held without bond.
