At approximately 11:50 p.m. on March 6, a patrol officer observed a vehicle that had previously fled from officers and conducted a traffic stop. The suspect, who was the driver of the car, disregarded the officer’s activated emergency equipment and attempted to flee the scene, during which he twice struck the officer’s cruiser, causing damage. With the assistance of additional officers, the suspect was taken into custody. During the investigation, officers recovered a fraudulent identification card and registration. Damani Williams, 28, of Temple Hills, Md., was arrested and charged with Attempted Malicious Wounding on Police, False Identification, Destruction of Property, Eluding and Altering License Plate or Decal. He was held without bond.
