A man was apprehended after allegedly breaking into a secured room of a residential building and stealing a bicycle. A witness reported seeing the suspect force entry, take the bike, and flee the scene. The same witness pursued the suspect and flagged down a nearby officer, who arrested the man in the 2700 block of Richmond Highway.
Authorities recovered burglarious tools during the investigation. Willie Taft, 29, of Greenville, NC, was arrested and charged with Burglary, Possession of Burglarious Tools, Destruction of Property, and Petit Larceny.
