Arlington County Police responded to the 1900 block of South Lowell Street for an initially reported burglary and determined that a man allegedly threw bricks at an occupied home belonging to a woman known to him, causing property damage.
Officers saw the suspect outside the residence, but police said he entered a vehicle and fled. Officers attempted to stop him near South Kenmore Street and 24th Street South, but he allegedly eluded them.
Investigators identified the suspect and obtained warrants. On September 13, police arrested Benito Loayes Augustin, 32, of Alexandria. He was charged with missile into an occupied dwelling, eluding and destruction of property and was held without bond.
