At approximately 4:12 a.m. on July 15, police were dispatched to the report of a burglary that had just occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined the male victim was in his residence when he allegedly observed the two male suspects inside his home. The victim confronted the suspects, who subsequently exited the residence and fled the scene on foot. A lookout was broadcast and with the assistance of the Alexandria Police Department, responding officers located and detained the suspects in the 3900 block of Mount Vernon Avenue. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that electronics, jewelry, clothing and alcohol were stolen from the victim’s residence. Bryan Portillo Ortiz, 24, of No Fixed Address, was arrested and charged with Burglary and Larceny with Intent to Sell. Yonatan Bran Martinez, 19, of Alexandria, Va. was arrested and charged with Receiving Stolen Goods. They were held without bond.
