A man was arrested after an early morning confrontation on Fairfax Drive left a woman with minor injuries.
Police were dispatched to the area at approximately 5:07 a.m. on June 3 for a reported stabbing. Investigators determined the victim was walking when she noticed a man following her. After confronting him, the suspect allegedly displayed a knife and struck her, causing a laceration.
The suspect fled on foot, but officers canvassed the area and located a man matching the description in the 3500 block of Fairfax Drive. A knife was recovered during the investigation.
The victim sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene by medics.
Mohamed Mouhidine, 37, of Arlington, was arrested and charged with attempted malicious wounding and assault and battery.
