Early Morning Vandalism on N. Garfield Street Results in Arrest

An early-morning patrol on September 28 led officers to a scene of destruction after debris was discovered in the road along N. Garfield Street. Investigating further, police spoke with witnesses who observed a man damaging property in the area.

Officers quickly located a suspect walking nearby on Clarendon Boulevard. After taking him into custody, a canvass revealed extensive property damage: two businesses in the 2900 block of Clarendon Boulevard had broken windows, and several public fixtures—including planters and a trash can—were also damaged.

Christian Amaya Ochoa, 21, of Arlington, VA, was arrested and charged with two counts of felony Destruction of Property, two counts of misdemeanor Destruction of Property, and Public Intoxication. He was also served with an outstanding warrant from the Arlington County Sheriff’s Office.
