ARLINGTON, Va. – The Arlington County Police Department’s Special Victims Unit has arrested and charged an Arlington Public Schools Extended Day employee. The investigation is ongoing and additional victims are being sought.
The police began their investigation on April 19 after allegations emerged that an employee at Abingdon Elementary School had shown pornographic material to three juveniles. Matthew Pineda, 18, of Fairfax County, has been charged with two counts of Possession of Child Pornography and Assault & Battery and is currently being held without bond at the Arlington County Detention Facility. Due to confidentiality provisions under Virginia Code § 16.1-301, further details about the investigation are not available for public release.
