ARLINGTON, Va. — Arlington County police are searching for a suspect after five people were wounded in a shooting at a house party in the Arlington View neighborhood early Saturday morning.
Officers were called to the 1600 block of 10th Street S. at about 2:54 a.m. on Sept. 26 after receiving a report of gunshots, according to the Arlington County Police Department.
When officers arrived, they found multiple people suffering from gunshot wounds inside a home and began providing aid. Medics transported three victims from the scene, while two other victims later went to the hospital on their own.
An adult woman suffered serious injuries and was listed in stable condition. Police said the four other victims — two adult men and two adult women — suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
Investigators believe the shooting followed a dispute during a house party at the home. According to the preliminary investigation, the suspect left the house after the dispute but later returned.
Police said he displayed a firearm and fired multiple rounds, striking the victims before running from the scene.
Officers searched the Arlington View area with assistance from a police helicopter and a K9 team but were unable to locate the suspect. Police described him as a Black male who was wearing denim.
Investigators said the shooting appears to have been an isolated incident and that they have found no indication of an ongoing threat to the surrounding community.
