Arlington County police are investigating a report of shots fired outside a residential building on Shirlington Boulevard.
Police were notified of the incident at approximately 9:59 a.m. on August 8. Investigators determined that the shooting allegedly occurred earlier that morning, at approximately 3:30 a.m., when a male suspect discharged a firearm outside the building and then fled.
A witness reported the incident shortly before 10 a.m. Responding officers recovered evidence that police said confirmed shots had been fired in the area.
No injuries or property damage were reported.
The suspect was described as a Black man wearing all-black clothing. Police said the circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
