Police are investigating a reported mob assault involving a juvenile victim that allegedly occurred several days before it was reported.
According to investigators, the victim told police he was sitting in the area of the 3200 block of 24th Street South on June 19 when he was approached by a group of approximately 15 to 20 juvenile males. The group allegedly surrounded him and made threatening statements.
The victim reportedly attempted to flee, but the group followed and physically assaulted him before stealing articles of his clothing. The suspects then fled the area.
The victim sustained injuries that were not considered life-threatening and later sought treatment at a local hospital.
One suspect has been described as a juvenile Black male with a thin build standing approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall. Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
