Knife-Wielding Suspect Arrested After Confrontation on Wilson Boulevard

Location: 1800 block of Wilson Boulevard, Arlington VA
Time: Approximately 2:52 p.m. on December 5

A man was arrested in Arlington after allegedly threatening victims with a knife during a robbery at a local business.

According to police, the male suspect first approached two women outside the store and asked for cigarettes. When they refused, he allegedly brandished a knife, prompting the victims to retreat inside the business. The suspect followed them in, confronted a third individual inside, displayed the knife again, took merchandise, and left the store without paying.

Officers arriving on the scene located the suspect and successfully detained him. A knife was recovered during a search incident to arrest.

Donte Smith, 41, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with:

  • Attempted Robbery (x2)

  • Robbery

He is being held without bond.
