At approximately 12:48 a.m. on August 25, police were dispatched to the report of an assault with a weapon. Upon arrival, it was determined that the male victim was walking in the area when the male suspect approached him and demanded his personal belongings. When the victim refused, the suspect brandished a knife and assaulted the victim with it, resulting in a laceration. The suspect then fled the scene on foot. Responding officers conducted a canvass of the area for the suspect yielding negative results. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and declined medical attention. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 35-40 years of age with dark hair. The investigation is ongoing.
