At approximately 2:17 a.m. on August 16, police were dispatched to the report of an assault with weapon and injury. Upon arrival, it was determined the male victim attempted to break up a physical altercation outside of a business when one of the individuals involved in the altercation allegedly struck him with a glass bottle, causing a laceration. The suspect then fled the scene on foot. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries, was treated by medics at the scene and declined transport to an area hospital for further treatment. A lookout was broadcast, and responding officers located an individual matching the description of the suspect in the 900 block of N. Randolph Street and took him into custody. Everth Escobar Catari, 29, of Arlington, VA, was arrested and charged with Malicious Wounding and Public Intoxication.
