At approximately 10:03 p.m. on March 24, police were dispatched to the report of a fight. Upon arrival, it was determined the male victim was walking in the area when he was approached by a group of approximately five juvenile male suspects who are known to him. The suspects assaulted the victim before he attempted to leave the scene during which he was struck in the head with an object believed to be a baseball bat. The suspects then attempted to steal the victim’s shoes before he was able to run from the scene. The victim sustained serious, non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital. The suspects, described as Hispanic males in their teens, fled the scene on foot, and responding officers canvassed the area for them, yielding negative results. The investigation is ongoing.
