A man was arrested after allegedly attempting to assault both a hospital employee and a police officer at Virginia Hospital Center.
Police responded to the hospital after receiving reports of an assault. Officers learned the suspect had allegedly attempted to strike an employee. When officers confronted him, he allegedly attempted to strike one of the responding officers before being subdued with assistance from another officer.
Rafael Barillas Sales, 27, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with Attempted Assault and Battery on Police, Assault and Battery, and Public Intoxication. He was held without bond.
