Arlington County police are investigating a reported malicious wounding after a man was assaulted while walking outside along Columbia Pike.
Police received the late report at approximately 3:39 p.m. on August 9. Investigators determined the assault occurred at about 11 p.m. on August 5, when a male suspect began following the victim before assaulting him and causing him to fall to the ground.
The suspect fled the area. The victim later went to a hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening. Police said no property was reported stolen.
The suspect was described as a Hispanic male, approximately 5 feet to 5 feet 4 inches tall, with curly black hair. He was reportedly wearing all-black clothing.
The investigation remains ongoing.
