A single-vehicle crash in the early morning hours led Arlington Police to uncover a suspected marijuana distribution operation. Officers responded to the scene around 2:40 a.m. on October 5 and found the driver of the crashed vehicle. After a brief investigation, the driver was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence.
While conducting a standard inventory search of the vehicle prior to towing, officers discovered a large quantity of marijuana, believed to be packaged for distribution.
The driver, Sami Bukair, 40, of Springfield, VA, was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence and Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana. He is currently being held without bond.
