Police are investigating a malicious wounding after a man was struck by a pellet early Saturday morning.
Officers responded to Virginia Hospital Center after receiving a report of an assault. Investigators determined the victim had been outside in the 2900 block of 2nd Street South when he was struck by a pellet.
The victim suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
No suspect description has been released as detectives continue investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
