Arlington County Police arrested two juveniles following an assault that escalated from a verbal dispute near South Hayes Street.
According to investigators, a group of five juvenile males was in the area when one of the juveniles became involved in a verbal confrontation with an adult woman. The argument turned physical, and the juvenile allegedly discharged pepper spray, striking the victim.
During the incident, a second juvenile reportedly displayed what appeared to be a firearm before the group fled. Responding officers quickly located the suspects and took them into custody. One juvenile was treated by medics at the scene before being charged through juvenile petitions with Malicious Wounding by Caustic Substance and Assault and Battery. The second juvenile faces a petition for Brandishing a Firearm.
