Police responded to Yorktown High School on May 21 following reports of an assault involving pepper spray. According to investigators, a juvenile male suspect and a juvenile female witness became involved in a verbal dispute while on school property. During the confrontation, the suspect allegedly discharged pepper spray, striking a juvenile female bystander.
The victim suffered minor injuries consistent with pepper spray exposure but did not require medical treatment. Officers took the suspect into custody at the scene. Juvenile petitions were obtained charging the suspect with Malicious Wounding by Caustic Substance.
