Robbery and Gunfire: String of Attacks in Arlington Under Investigation

ARLINGTON, VA — A disturbing string of violence unfolded this week in Arlington, with one man targeted in two separate attacks over two days, prompting an active police investigation and multiple arrests — with more expected.

On Monday, April 29, just after noon, Arlington County Police were called to a parking garage in the 600 block of North Glebe Road. Inside a stairwell, a man was beaten and robbed by a group of attackers. They took his clothing and ran off. The victim had minor injuries.

Later that day, police arrested Kevin Flores Moya, 18, of Arlington, and two teenagers. All three are facing serious charges: Robbery, Conspiracy to Commit a Felony, and Assault by Mob.

Then, less than 24 hours later on Tuesday morning, things escalated. Around 9 a.m., police responded to a report of a gunshot in the same general area. Investigators say it was the same victim — this time, someone fired a gun at him from a passing car. No one was hit, but police didn’t waste time tracking down the suspect.

That shooter, also a teenage male, was arrested and charged with Attempted Aggravated Malicious Wounding, Shooting from a Vehicle, and Discharging a Firearm in a Public Place.

Detectives executed a search warrant early Wednesday morning, May 1, at a home on North Thomas Street, collecting evidence they say links back to both incidents. Police say this investigation is still active, and they’re looking for more suspects.

Anyone who knows something — even a small detail — is being urged to call the Arlington County Police Department’s Homicide/Robbery Unit at 703-228-4180.
