High-Speed Collision in Arlington Claims Life of Local Woman

ARLINGTON, Va. – A high-speed crash on Wilson Boulevard Saturday afternoon has left one person dead and another critically injured, according to Arlington County Police.

The incident happened around 2:40 p.m. on January 27, when a pickup truck traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed struck a white sedan that was turning onto Wilson Boulevard from N. Vermont Street. The impact sent both vehicles into two additional cars stopped at the Wilson Boulevard and N. Glebe Road traffic light.

Emergency responders transported the drivers of the pickup truck and the sedan to a local hospital with critical injuries. The driver of the sedan, an adult female, was later pronounced dead. The pickup truck’s driver, an adult male, remains hospitalized in critical condition.

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased as they work to notify family members. The investigation is ongoing, and police have not said whether speed or other factors, such as impairment, played a role in the crash.

Wilson Boulevard was temporarily closed in both directions as emergency crews worked the scene, causing significant traffic delays.

Anyone with information about the crash must contact Arlington County Police as they continue their investigation.
