A high-speed crash late Friday night left two Arlington teens dead and a third critically injured, prompting an ongoing investigation by county police.
It happened just before 11:30 p.m. on May 3. Police say a BMW sedan was speeding southbound on Route 110 when it clipped a Lexus near Washington Boulevard. The impact sent the BMW off the road and into a concrete barrier.
All three people in the BMW—teenage boys from Arlington—were rushed to nearby hospitals. The two passengers didn’t survive. The driver is still in critical condition. The people in the Lexus weren’t hurt.
Under Virginia law, police can’t release the names of the deceased since they’re juveniles.
Detectives are still trying to piece together what happened. They’re asking anyone who might’ve seen the crash or has dashcam footage to reach out. Contact Detective S. Lafley at slafley@arlingtonva.us if you have any information.
